FAQs

What is senior daycare, and how is it different from assisted living?

1

Senior daycare provides scheduled daytime care, meals, activities, companionship and support. Participants return home at the end of the day. Assisted living is a residential setting that provides housing and around-the-clock support, including overnight care.

Do you give medications during daycare?

2

No. Agape does not administer medications during daycare. We can provide a verbal reminder for a participant to take medication they have brought with them.

What happens if there is an accident or a participant has incontinence?

3

We handle these needs case by case. We can provide toilet reminders and reasonable assistance. Please send an extra set of clothing in case an accident occurs. If incontinence is frequent or more extensive help is needed, please discuss it with us during intake so we can determine how to best support the participant.

How will we know if Agape is closed because of snow?

4

Agape follows Douglas County School District closures for snow days. If the district closes because of snow, Agape will also be closed.

Do you accept long-term care insurance?

5

Yes. We will need the participant's policy information and any required authorizations so we can communicate with the insurance company and help with reimbursement. Coverage and reimbursement are based on the individual policy.

Why do you need a face sheet and a MOST form?

6

These documents help emergency responders quickly understand the participant's medical information, emergency contacts and care wishes. We keep them in a red emergency folder. We always contact the family, but if 911 or emergency medical services are needed, the folder goes with the participant so responders have the family's documented wishes and essential information.
